hello everyone,, just got home from work to find the usual letters on the door mat,, one though is from power2contact,, anyone heard of them?
Anyway it says that mercer has engaged power2contact ltd, a specialist customer contact company, with many years experience of contacting hard to locate parties.[:0] Now i havnt been hiding,or trying to hide, even spoke to Mercers 2 weeks ago.
Anyway its the first one I have had saying that if I dont contact Mercers within 72 hours then they will send someone around to our home to discuss.
I might just call there bluff & see what happens,, I have exlained to Mercers what we are trying to propose.
What would you do?
I used to get letters and postcards from Mercers threatening a visit and all sort they were very aggressive at times. Like yourself I explained what was happening and from then on ignored them. They didn't visit me and if they did I wouldn't have let them in as I remember posting on here and asking for advice.
I personally would ignore them.

When Mercers told us they were going to visit he told them to bring a casualty doctor them - they asked if he was threatening violence he said no but our macaw will be out of his cage! They never came. J
yes,, looking on the net,, it seems they threaten to call but never do,, shame really, would have been nice telling someone face to face what we are doing[:D] instead of on the phone.
Really cant see them paying someone to visit us with no chance of getting any money on the doorstep,, its a false economy.
I will ignore it & file the letter.
They are one of the most aggressive creditors, never give up. They used to threaten to visit me all the time, and I used to write back to tell them to bring it on as I wouldn't be speaking to them anyway!
It is rare that they turn up, and if they do and you inform them you are going for an IVA and they are usually quite polite.

Hi, had a letter last week from power2contact saying if we didn't call skycard within 72 hours then someone would call round. We rang sky immediately (who we have kept informed all the way). Today at 4.15 someone called round which took me completely by suprise. I rang my DMC who said to never let them in and just tell them we proposing IVA - they then said they would contact skycard to see why they sent them round when they know we are going through them.
I had letters from Mercers threatening visits and I ended up ignoring them. One afternoon someone came to my door from Mercers ( I really should have opened the letters!!) Anyway I said I was unable to pay them a penny as I had absolutely no disposible income pending an interest only remortgage. He said that's fine but he wanted to come in to discuss my I&E. I said I would be happy to come along to a pre arranged place to discuss my I&E but that he would not be entering my home. I kept a pleasant smile on my face but had to repeat myself twice to say that no matter what he would not be entering my home and repeated my offer to meet anywhere else of his choosing. He declined my offer and I never saw or heard from them again!! My creditors meeting was 2 weeks later and Barclays voted yes to 25/£
They really are the aggressive ones, I googled it when I first received my letters/postcards and they come up for a fair bit of stick by all. Just noticed maxdebt we're at the same point in our IVA journey and I'm also with Melanie!

Indeed! Unfortunately like many of us we are well into negative equity so it is looking like my 40 to go is more likely to be 52 to go! Ah well certainly better than losing my house!!
Mercers hounded me mercilessly - then Barclays didn't even bother to vote at my meeting.

I may well be in that situation too but for now we'll work on 40 and take the extra 12 if it comes to it. Hope it goes smooth for you for the remainder
