I doubt if any money will go to creditors. It may be that you will get your money back as the IVA was not approved although it is worth checking the small print. By the sounds of it your IVA was accepted with unsustainable mods which you rejected so the company could claim to have done it's job. Maybe I am being cynical now!

It wasn't accepted. I was told this on Friday. The £300pm increase was only their answer to my question about how much more they thought i would need to get it accepted.

Cath same here....was advised by Tina at Melanie Giles team that I should keep my money until the first IVA payment is due, this would ensure that I got used to being on the required budget and could afford the IVA payment.
Yes, me too, it will be going in my shiney new NS&I savings account.

I also meant that I hope the old firm won't ask me for money for their work undertaken!

Ah yes Cath....just went back a couple of posts.

If they do then borrow Elv's Macaw.......that'll change their mind!

PS: I certainly feel i have chosen the correct firm but as always time will tell. I suppose none of us really know until a couple of months into the process but from what I've read on this forum and from my own dealings to-date with them I thank my lucky stars (what few I have left) that I chose the IVA Bureau.

You should try and get your money back. At least then if you do go with another IP you may have a little buffer for when the IVA does start.

I would be very happy to help you appraise your situation, and feel that it is very ususual you have already been asked to pay three payments to your IP on account. Send me the paperwork over to have a look at if you would like.

I would definitely take Melanies offer to look at your paperwork, nothing to lose there and then make a decision of the best way to move forward for yourself. All the best in whatever you decide.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

If your proposed IVA is in the least complicated then go to Melanie - she is brilliant and that is from experience. After service is first rate too. J

Melanie and her team are excellent - not just when arranging and sorting the IVA proposal (in a manner acceptable for all) but also when supervising the arrangement too! Very fair and flexible to all.

Go for it!
