Hi, I had NR as one of my creditors and they were fine. Egg were the only ones who said no to our proposal! The only modifications we had were IP fees.

Sorry forgot to add. They did want a 6 year IVA but we put that in straight from the beginning as knew they would want it. But at least we got a good result. I'm sure the extra 12 months will fly by!

Thanks ntal, We have decided not to bother with the IVA, will be ringing Payplan tomorrow to tell them. The whole prospect of being told how much we can have to live on for the next 5-6 years is waaaay more stressful than being in debt. It suddenly occured to me on another thread earlier today that I personally wouldnt find my life being dictated a relief in any shape or form. However, I do wish you luck on your journeys ;-)

I love not having to rely on credit and having to budget. The fact that we have a small amount of money in the bank at the end of the month is great, sounds pathetic I know, but it is better than it being the other way round.

We personally feel that our stress has been lifted and in a few years we will be totally debt free.

I hope it works out for you.

I hope it all works out for you Mrs Moody, I personally enjoy being in an IVA and was questionned once on forum about that phrase but I can' honestly say I do enjoy it, I know it's not going to last forever and whilst I'm in it the stress for myself has been lifted in respect of not having to budget the way I used to by borrowing off Peter to pay Paul and juggling figures around every week. I know where I am now and if I've not got it I can't spend it.

IVA's aren't suitable for everyone and so long as you're happy with your decision then I wish you well in your journey.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

How true is that Lesley! I just love being able to budget and don't care about not being able to impulse buy anymore - that's partly what got me into this mess, that and a love for exotic holidays!
