Hi I was wondering if it is possible to go back to uni when in an iva. As it is a nursing course I would bet a bursary of say £550 a month and would also have a partime care-work job (easy to get when your a nursing student and they are flexible to fit hours round my course) I was just wondering if the bursary and job would be classed as 2 jobs? I would be earning arround the same as I do in my current office job so I dont see any effects on the iva payment. My husband would still work full time. I know its a strange time to look at changing career but I have found my wage getting smaller in office work not better so I need to do something in reference to a career.

Northerngirl, I would definitely talk to your IP and I'm sure one of the forum professionals will be along soon to advise, well done on considering this worthwhile career, hope you can do it and are successful.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Hi everyone thanks for your response. I hope I can do it too. This is what I left school wanting to do, but a 17 it was too hard living away from home so I only managed to do 1 of 3 years. I always wish I had finished the course. It would be very tight but I think it would be worth it in the end.

Then so long as you can carry on making the IVA payments, there should be no problem with taking up the offer of the bursary, but make sure you let your IP know of your change in circumstances out of courtesy.
Thanks Melanie (wow you work this late on a Friday night[:)] thats dedication) I would let my IP know as soon as I had a place. Oh its all moving really quick just noticed the uni has an open day tomorrow maybe its all meant to be!

It sounds really exciting and I wish you the very best of luck. We need more good nurses in this country, and it is a job I could not do, so I really admire you for wanting to change careers into something so worthwhile.
I couldn't be a nurse - don't mind blood or needles, but anything to do with eyes or people being sick and that's me finished!
