why is it that the banks can do the most difficult of tasks yet they are incapable of showing the right balance on your account via internet or cash point. My balance is never shown correctly leaving me thinking i have more than i have. Also anybody know why it can take up to 2 weeks for a crad transaction to come off balane. Actually thought I was doing ok this having a little bit left over, now i reaise they have taken few card transactions here and there from last 3 weeks. leaving me with nothing. I am with NATWEST does anyone else encounter this probem. Sorry thats my ittle moan over with [V][:(!][:(]

Hi Amyc,

I wish my bank shown my balance with more than it actually was[:D][:D]

I have never known a credit or even debit transaction take 2 weeks before showing on your account. Even international transactions appear sooner than this. I would speak with your bank, and pose the question.

Hi Amy, totally agree, it can be very frustrating!! I recently paid my Council Tax via the internet on my debit card, the amount came off of my available balance, then a few days later the amount was put back again and in the end took five days for the transaction to reapear!! I am with RBS who are the same as NatWest, I wonder what their policy is for processing card payments.
Andy.

Hi,

I am with Natwest also but have never had to wait 3 weeks for a card payment to come out, the maximum has been 2 days and it normally only occurs on a weekend.

I would be inclined to call them and ask why

Mt NatWest internet and cash machine enqusiries always show the correct balance. I can use the solo card, get home, check my account and it's on there. I have the Step account and it won't allow me to use the card if there are insufficient funds. HTH.

I'm the same Cath, when I send my hubby out, the transaction shows before he's got home and I can tell him what he's spent!

I'm with Natwest and find my DD's don't always go out the right day. For instance car lease is due on the 1st of each month and I know the company request the payment on the 1st ( I've checked with them) yet it doesn't come out of my account until 3,4 sometimes 5 days later. This has nothing to do with weekends /bank holidays either.

I obsessive with checking my account so can always make sure there's funds available, but easy to see how it could cause problems.

Also my salary shows as available in my account on a Sunday, never had that before.

Never had these problems with halifax, wonder if its a Natwest thing? Serioulsy thinking about changing banks.

I have my direct debits and standing orders coming out of my second Cashminder account and I transfer the money across when I get paid so I don't have to worry when they come out.

I also put any transactions from my main account on an Excel spreadsheet so that I know that they are due out and the balance on the spreadsheet is what I have left.

When I was with Natwest (before my IVA) I never had any problems with the account, although transactions did show on a Sunday like you say Julie.

Yes i am seriously thinking off changing banks but obviuosly its not the asiest of tasks whilst in the IVA. I tried to apply with Co Op before IVA was started but they refused me, not sure why. I was with Barclays but have debt with them on the IVA so that not an option. I always check balance online everyday but thinking off using cash and not my card anymore then I cant make any mistakes regarding the balance. If I dont use the card maybe they might actually be able to show a right balance for a change. Thanks for all your posts.

Hi Amy
I was just wondering if you got the template budget I sent yesterday? My emails tend to act up sometimes so I wasn’t 100% sure.

Thanks

Did you apply for a full current account or the Cashminder Amy?

If you tried to do the full one, that might explain why you were turned down.

The Co-op are pretty good with the Cashminder though.
