i have spoken to tina at Melanies company and decided to go through with an IVA. My next step has been to open a cashminder account with the co-op and i have changed my wages to be paid into this for next month. should i approach my creditors via letter soon and let them know i have entered an iva or pursuing one and make a nominal payment or something?

There is no harm in contacting your creditors, and we will also do that at the same time so they get confirmation from all angles.

I think both Melanie and her team are understanding and treat us clients very well, non-judgemental and fair.

I think Tina and Melanie are fantastic as well - mind you, everyone on this site has been a godsend - you are at the beginning of your journey like me, so the best of luck - I am 100% positive we are in the best hands

Great news and you have picked an excellent IP.

It is totally up to you whether you speak to your creditors. I didn't and ignored all phone calls from them. They will try and get you to make a payment, and again, it is up to you but it will make no difference to whether you are accepted or not.

Be guided by what Tina tells you when she calls.

I have the details of your case and will be reviewing it today. In the meantime there is no harm in contacting your creditors to update them with your plans. We will be sending you a standard letter you can use for this purpose, and of course we will also be writing to them at the same time.
