whilst we were in a payment break the problem being , the direct debit changed to the new company , the money was there for payment , but no money left my account so i rang them they told me to ring back as there was probably an error on their system so 3 days later when the payment still hadnt left i rang back to tell them they asked for a card payment i explained i only had a cash card they then told me to do a cash transfer sent me a sort code and account no but not the bank name i went into my bank to sort it out but was told i'd be charged £20 to do it i didnt as i couldnt spare the £20 to pay , so i rang them to say that if they could give me their bank name i will go to their bank and do it there but the person on the phone demanded to know why the payment hadnt gone via dd and that banks don't charge for transfering money , i explained my bank did charge and i did not know why the dd had not left my account i said i am in an iva and pulling out £20 would have left me short but shhe just said yes you are in an iva and banks don't charge we'l do a double dd at end of the month which really doesnt solve the problem if the dd is not working , i asked to speak to my ip and was told he's not available and that she had resolved the problem by taking double the dd i am going to send a letter to my ip detailing this as i think there is an issue with the dd as the previous 2 people i spoke to seemed to think there was and if the payment doesnt come on in december i'll be 2 mths on arrears

hi kallis
thank you we are all well
am going to send a recorded delivery letter ,this has upset me a bit as all i want is to pay but felt like i was spoken down to by someone who seemed not to understand iva's and seemed to blame me for the dd not working (as far as i can see from checking online bank the dd is set up ) and that i was wrong not to pay the £20 which would have left us short of money maybe to her its nothing but to me its my son's school dinners and bus fares for a week
if they had given me their bank name i could have gone and paid and not been charged sorry i only appear on here to whine
i will be asking hubby to call them in future as i get too upset
elldina
Elldina you have done nothing wrong and it is up to your IP to sort this out. There is no way you should have had to pay the £20 so your IP could at least have told you to knock it off your monthly payment.
I agree with Jan that you should email your IP directly and make sure this does not count as having missed a payment.
Elldina - don't worry about coming on to have a moan - we all need it and you seem to have been treated appallingly.
I would email your IP in the first instance and see if you get a quick response. If not, then do your recorded delivery letter.
Hopefully you can get something sorted out.
