hi..thanks for all the posts. i spoke ot my ip ...well rther the assistant it was awful i felt like a fool..and i quote "you have a responsiablity to clear the debt YOU created,,,,its hardly sensiable of you to get yourself pregnant is it?...we would be unwilling to consider any payment breaks or extensions ot your IVA" It went on in a similar vein with succh comments in realtin to my stupidity and questions on how will pay the money back and what would happen if i went bankcrupt etc ..i was distraught by the whole matter, i was petrified...so i have had to make a decision and i am no longer pregnant i wasnt far along but still it was th hardest thing i have ever done,,,,i feel like the worst person in the world ... clearly my iva company is not sympathetic and i know my debt is all my fault but i thought i was doing well...i can understans why people end it all in these situations... i am trying my best to get throught it all. got my review coming up..they have asked for bank statements which they hav enever asked for before ,,,which i am really worried about.

Lula, I'm so sorry. The attitude of your IVA company is disgusting - how dare they speak to you like that and make you feel that way.

You are not the worst person in the world, although the person you were speaking to must come close.

Don't worry about sending in bank statements, I understand most companies ask for them anyway - I had to send mine in monthly.

I really don't know what else to say, other than to send you lots of love xxxxxxx

thanks i am worried about the bank statments cos they dont show that much, all my direct debits and then just cash withdrawals as i dont have a debit card and no cheque book - so money for shopping or petrol.DO they need me to itemise what every withdrawal is for. They have never wanted it before. So i thought what with my recent issues they were being particulary strict with me. Do i haveto send them, can i refuse

I think you do have to send them, but I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Not everyone has a debit card, so it's normal for there to only be cash withdrawals.

Sorry I'm not much help, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable about IVAs and annual reviews will be along soon xxx

(((((((((((Hugs)))))))))

It was very wrong to make you feel you had to make the decision due to your finances because where there is a will there's a way. If that is the major reason for making that choice, please do talk to someone about it.

Take good care of yourself xxx

Lula - which IP firm are you with, because to be quite frank I am absolutely horrified with the way you have been spoken to by this member of staff and this should be brought to the attention of the IP personally.

I am sure that the IP will also be horrified to know his/her staff are making such comments to clients. It is not our business to comment upon the way our clients run their lives, but it is our job to provide support when changes of circumstances require flexibility within the agreements.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Lula, I cannot believe what I am reading, I sincerely hope you're ok? How dare they speak to you and be judgemental of your situation? I am astounded, I do that your IP needs to be aware of how his/her staff are judging their clients personal circumstances.

I do hope you're ok, this is so harsh for you and a lot to cope with. xx

Lula I am so sorry to hear that you have been treated like this.

I agree that you should take this up with your IP directly and complain about the member of staff who spoke to you like this.

We are all behind you here.

cheers all. Ihave lots of support round me and yes there is a complaint in. I dont think it would be fair to Name and Shame ...as i have spoken to my IP personally on the matter and he is dealing with it internally.
Maybe 2010 will be my year.

Let's hope the IP does get this sorted. No one should be able to say anything like that.

I hope 2010 will be much better for you.

Good luck xxx

Whilst I would not wish unemployment on anyone, I do think this particular member of staff should be dismissed.
