Hi all.
We have our creditors meeting tomorrow ( my wife and myself interlinked). The nerves are starting to kick in a bit but that's nothing new eh?
The meeting is scheduled for 3.25pm. I can't take the phonecall at work, neither can my wife. I am sneaking out of work early under a pretext but need to leave it as late as possible. My question is, if the meeting is at 3.25, roughly how long will it be before I get a phonecall from the chairman telling me the result. Also, I have heard that they may wish to ask questions during the meeting and may have to phone. What sort of questions do they need to ask, I thought we had already given them all the info they need.
There is also the potential for weather disrupption up here tomorrow afternoon, so I may not even get home in time. Do you think that would cause a problem or is it absolutely essential to be available?
Of course I will get out of work as soon as possible but can't take the **** !
Thanks all

I can't really answer any of your questions, I am in the same position as yourself and our creditors meeting is in a few weeks time. Just a reply to say I hope it all goes well and you get the outcome you wish for. Good Luck!

You could maybe ask your IP or their representative to contact you at a time convenient to you rather than you having to sneak out of work. I would like to wish you luck for tomorrow and will look out for a posting from yourself tomorrow evening maybe?

They will give you the result of the meeting and discuss any modifications with you if there are any to discuss. My meeting result was available with ten mins of the time of the meeting, I think others vary. All the best x

Hi gabbagabbaskint,

It is nerve wracking but I'm sure it will be fine. They normally phone you if there are any moderations to the proposal, this could be all to do with IP fees or it could be a creditor questioning something. Everyone is different and sometimes there are no moderations.

Have you explained to your IP about you having to work tomorrow? Sometimes the votes have been received before the scheduled time so your IP maybe able to call you during lunch or a break time?

Which company are you using?

Good luck and please keep us updated xx

Good luck for a few weeks time too briggadeen.

Strictly speaking, you are supposed to attend the creditors meeting - although most IPs (including myself!) do not encourage this as it is very rare for creditors to turn up in person and most of the voting is conducted by post. Your IP should have checked whether the time they have called the meeting for was convenient for you, although proceedings can be adjourned if they cannot get hold of you to answer creditors' questions - which can relate to any aspect of your IVA proposal and cannot therefore be accurately predicted.

Thanks all so far. I did tell my IP (PP) that I would be available at that time, I am the sort of person who tends to jump first then work out how to land, guess that's what got us into this mess in the first place !
I will be available to take the phonecall but can only do so at home, I couldn't give out my company phone number so have asked them to ring our landline. I am in the sort of job whereby I can be out and about anyway, it's really the weather forecast that was bothering me, I can leave plenty of time to get home but if I am stuck in snow somewhere and can't make it in time.... oh well, what will be will be.
Thanks for the info regarding how votes are cast Melanie, that's interesting. I suppose I have always thought that they all sit round a table somewhere discussing an application but now I think about it that wouldn't be practical at all really, actually impossible !
Thanks agin everyone, will let you know how we do tomorrow.
