It is very interesting to read about other peoples experiences. At the moment for us, it is a case of 'so far so good'. I will keep you informed of the eventual outcome.

Someone above said they paid the referral fee (why do people have to pay referral fees - how much did Baines charge?) by credit card. Bid the cpmpany suggest you should do that? I've been told that it is a criminal offence because you are using money that you don't intend to fully repay - if you go into an IVA. It's rather like filling up with petrol and driving away without paying.

If they told you to do that... Doesn't bear thinking about!

If your company does not have an IP (and some don't) then they will do all the initial paperwork before passing you over to another company, in the case of Baines and Ernst it is Blair Endersby. That's what you pay the money for.

People usually pay any fees by not paying their creditors. This allows you to build up a little contingency.
