Hello everyone.

Well our IVA has compeleted at the end of last year which was due to a F&F offered by mum mum, we have now got out certificates saying its complete what do i do now?

Do i just send a copy to Experian and Equafax? what do i say to them? how long will it take for my rating to be cleared? we are hoping to move home at the end of this year and the one thing that is worrying us is will our credit be better for a new mortgage? as our mortgage at the moment is killing us on a monthly basis.

Can someone help with my quesstions.

Many thanks and a BIG thank you to those that have given me such wonderful help and support ever since joining this site, I have found this site a wealth of knowledge, help and hope in many a dark times, you are all wonderful and we both want to thank you for those that take their time out of what must be a busy time to read and reply to all the posts on here.

Thank you
Claire xx

Hi Claire,

What a wonderful Mum you have [:)]

Have you checked your credit report? You can do this for £2 ( I think) and there are 3 main ones.

Your credit rating would have been affected for 6 years since the start of the IVA - how many months was your IVA for?

Glad the forum has helped you - I know its been a lifeline for me xx

hi roisin congratulations, check your credit report first like julie says, and check the iva register.your name should drop off the register now,and your iva should show as complete on your credit file.if not send copies of your completion certifice to the 3 main credit agencies, and copies to your creditors and ask them to update your files as there will probably be defaults applied after your iva was started.if the default original entries are at the time of your iva start up then they will drop off after 6 years from that date.so for the next year or so until the 6 is up from the start you will have a poor credit score and find it hard to get credit.

Thank you everyone for replying to me - we are just getting our files now from Experian and Equafax who is the 3rd one again?

I think we are selling the house and rent for a while it will be less stress and much cheaper as our mortage is very high due to high interest and not a high street lender so i think we are going to rent for a bit.

Yes we are very lucky with my mum but i do have to stress we are still paying this off there is no free ride!!

But thank you all
xx

Hello again, so sorry to have to keep asking questions, but we have managed to get our credit files from Experian and in all honesty wasnt as bad as i thought, thought my partner has 3 defaults and i have 4. Now my quesiton is one of my defaults is something that was in the IVA but is only just in the last 12 months showing as a default.

If i send my certificate what is this going to accomplish? or should i just leave it and wait for it to drop off in 2014?

Do the completion certficates change anything on your credit files?

Many thanks

You can write to your creditors and ask them to remove the defaults.

The IVA will remain on for six years but you can sort anything else out before then.

Thanks Jan for answering, I dont want the IVA off as i know that is something i have to live with for a couple more years and so be it! we got ourselves into this so we have to ride it out.

It was more the defaults on there that clearly should have been classed as a Default the same as the others not 12 months ago.

What is the likelihood they will amend the records?

They are not allowed to register the defaults after the date your IVA was approved, so they have to remove them.

Send a letter together with a copy of your completion certificate and ask them to remove the defaults.
