I have spent about 3 weeks compiling all the docs needed and today had them all completed and sent off to Melanie by Special Delivery so they should be there next Monday.

I guess now its just a wait and see how it goes.

It is a relief to have everything together and to have been living to our budget for the past few weeks quite well.

I did have a shock when looking for last years Council tax bill - I discovered the Direct Debit had been cancelled last August and not reset up so we have not paid over half of the bill. The girl on the phone was lovely and and allowed us to roll it into this years bill. Just as well I checked - was a shock to me.

But I am looking forward to getting everything underway so we can finally move onwards with our lives.
When I was younger I did what I knew - now I know better I do better!

Kath x

Good luck - you should soon have a proposal to inspect and sign!

It looks like we are at more or less the same stage in the process, we sent off the final document we were waiting for to Mel’s team on Monday of this week. I have managed to master the scanner at last which makes it a lot easier, when sending off the required paperwork.

I spoke to Angela on Monday, and she has confirmed that all our documents are now in place and we are looking at three weeks or so before the next stage.

We have been quite surprised by the lack of phone calls from creditors to be honest, in fact the only one to call us so far were Barclaycard, who were on the phone two days after the first payment was missed. After explaining our situation to them they have been quiet for nearly two weeks.

It was getting all the documents together that was the worst bit for me. Last week I signed and sent back the proposal. I got home today to find a brown envelope with a copy of the propsal for me and the date of my creditors meeting!!!!! It's all set for 25th March at 10.30. I've got the collywobbles already. God knows how I'll be on the day. Due to the nature of my job I'm not able to book time off so hopefully I'll be able to take calls. If the meeting had been the following week I'd be off for the Easter holidays- sods law!
Good luck debtfree-wannabee and New Leaf.

Julie, you asked me in another post where I'm from and I thought I replied but just found I didn't. I'm in Gwent. Judging by your name on your blog I suspect I'm not that far away from you?

Please and try not to worry, if Melanie and her wonderful team cant help you then no one can. Melanie helped me complete a lump sum IVA last Feb and I am living proof of her success!
Everyone told me not to worry, and i wish i had listened, and like everyone told me . . if Melanie doesnt think it will succeed she wont take you on, you only have to look at her success rate!
I was lucky enough to live locally and meet her and her team, it was like meeting a star!!
Stay calm and am sure all will be well!

GWDIHW - I'm not sure where Gwent covers now [:)]..I always associated Gwent with Rhymney Valley??? ( my roots).

I'm just outside Porthcawl [:)]
