Hi All,

Well we have Melanie Giles and Co proposing our IVA, and this week both mine and my wifes mobile have been quiet. Even worse the landline is quiet - where are all these creditors?

Last week we had 3 creditors calling every hour or so, and when I spoke to one creditor last Friday he told me that he is sorry he does not need to speak with me anymore, and will remove me from the dialer.

I know I shouldn't complain, but I was expecting a barrage of calls seeing has we are now entering the 2nd month of no payments to creditors.

Its so eerily quiet, having read about Barclaycard and others I would have expected a higher rate of calls from creditors.

Maybe their all on Half Term[8D]

Defintately don't knock it. Some of my creditors went quiet once I told them I was going to propose an IVA through Melanie Giles. I have still got lettters from them but for most of the time my phone had been fairly quiet.

You've been very lucky SF. I hope it continues that way.

Glad to see that you are being left alone - but don't tempt fate!

I used to explain to mine we were proposing an IVA and they weren't too bad as if they said they'd ring the next week they did leave it until then, they may well need an update soon but whilst it's quiet...enjoy.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Our first month in the process was a nightmare, the second month it was quiet. We are now in our third month creditors meeting on 26th and it is horrendous. We now have Mercers (Barclaycard) on our back, Capital One and MBNA. Just letters from RBS so far.
Enjoy the peace and long may it last.[:)]

Sillybilly - I totally know where you are coming from with Mercers - they are a nightmare!

It was quite funny Kallis as I got home two nights ago and there were 14 missed calls on our phone and a voice text from Mercers. Up until that day Barclaycard had rung. I had read a lot about Mercers on here so I was prepared. I rang them and was asked for an account number I said I don't have one but you have rung me a lot today. She went through security and then found my account she started to say she was ringing as they now have my Barclaycard account. I interupted her and said I know exactly why you are ringing me and what your company is like, as I am a member of a support forum for people who are having financial difficulties, and there are daily reports of your companies treatment of people like me. She then listened to where I am at, with a date for the creditors meeting. She took a note of details and said noone would ring until after that date. No phone calls yesterday or today so I am hoping my assertive phone call worked. To be fair she was very nice. [;)]

Hi SF, enjoy it while its quiet, hope it stays that way for you, sillybilly we found mercers were an absolute pain i think we had 6 calls from them in one day, just try and do what we did and tell them were youre at with your iva and dont let them bully you into making a payment, it worked for us but you do have to stand your ground, good luck.

I hope that works SB!

Must admit that I took the cowards way out and never answered them.

Yikes! We have had our first call today from HSBC. This might sound crazy, but I'm glad it has come. I have been dreading this moment for so long that now it's here, and we are starting to tell our creditors, it feels like we are admitting it to someone at least. Telling someone we cannot keep pretending everything is ok even in these circumstances feels better. Strange I know!

I just ignored the calls, but answered the letters.

The only time I spoke to Mercers was on the day my IVA was approved.

I remember that initially I ignored a couple of calls and they kept calling so I decided to write a script and everytime I kept to this and I must admit for me it did work. Got me through it and enjoyed taking the calls when IVA was accepted x
