Some people use a Vanquis card and pay it off each month , or get a catalogue and do the same. Mobile phone contracts help as well.

Hi there & a warm welcome to the forum from me.
Do you have mobile phones on contract & have you had them through your situation? As they help build your credit rating.
I hate to say this as anyone been in debt & struggled now hates the word, credit card!
But I have read that others have taken out a credit card with very low credit facility & use it to say pay their petrol on each month - save the money & pay of the balance in full each month, also helps your credit rating.
Have you checked your records with the credit agencies to ensure all the data is now correct too?
Sorry I cant be more helpful & others more experienced than me will be along to advise.

Vanquis card seems to be the one to try first - they cater for those with bad credit.
Do check your credit file with all three agencies just to ensure all data is correct in regarding previous debts as settled/satisfied if you have not already done so.
Hang onto your mobile phone contract as it will of been helping you & see if your husband can get one, with the same company may be easier.
Im not sure on Catalogues - but as long as you can trust yourself & pay for anything you buy in full on getting the statement.
Good luck & well done on getting through everything.

Vanquis does seem a good way to help so long as the balance is cleared at the end of the month, it all helps along with mobile phone contracts etc., x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
