I have had my iva since jul 2007. I have paid all my payments of £616 per month since then. In july I had to pay £650 out of my contingency fund to get a repair done on my car. This month I have had to pay a further £370 out for my car repairs and £280 out for my boiler repairs. The £370 I have borrowed from my parents as I have nothing left in my contingency fund. Do you think that my IVA practitioner will allow my to have a months grace on my IVA. This would mean that I would be able to pay back my parents and have £250 to put into my contingency fund?

I am sure that after such a perfect record of payments so far, that your IP will cut you a little slack in view of the exceptional expenditure you have recently experieinced.

I certainly would if I were acting for you.

Hi my IVA has in the past year swapped over to Grant Thornton. I used to be with accuva? Will this be a possible problem?

If you are asking the same question as the original poster, I cannot see why there should be a problem simply because your IP has changed.

I am a client of Melanie's and had to take a couple of payment breaks, I paid this back by paying a little extra each month into the IVA and it's not paid off.

All the best with your request. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi
I fully agree with what Melanie and Helen have said and given the exceptional expenditure you have encountered, It seems realistic to be given a months grace.

Thanks

That would certainly sound reasonable, and I can't see it being a problem.

Send a copy of your repair bills to your IP - if they say no, then ask for a reason! Good luck!
Take care,
