Most IP's have excellent staff who deal with the day to day matters of the cases under their control, and the IP is really the manager of how the case goes.
When I hopefully finish my qualifications next year and become an IP I would like to speak to every client face to face but this is not always practical.

Agreed, when you are one end of the country, and the client is the other, would you expect the client to spend money they don't have to attend a meeting with you when you can achieve the same outcome over the phone ? No me neither.
Many clients prefer the telephone. I have drafted many IVA proposals (over 2,000) and only a handful wanted a face to face meeting or to speak to the IP directly
If you are self employed then you have to have a face to face meeting, regardless of where in the country you are.
I know of at least one IP on here who does travel from one end of the country to another to meet clients.

I am aware that self employed clients need face to face appointments.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen as it does. But each IP at DFD for example has over 5,000 clients in their names so meeting each one would be impractical.
I have met clients face to face and as mentioned conducted many telephone interviews and it depends on the individual as to what suits. There is no better way
The majority of debtors just want friendly helpful advice which usually comes from the case manager and not the IP. 9 times out of 10, it's the ataff who work for the IP who the client really appreciates.....................
A lot of posters on here are not happy with the service they get from case managers, especially as they seem to change with alarming frequency.
