Hi, I'm in an IVA with Kingsgate Insolvency and have been for a few years now. My IP is/was Michael Ellingworth but I saw a worrying link on another IVA forum that stated he had been sacked (not sure if that's the correct term) as he's been taking money from clients. Can someone please tell me if it is true?! I am more than worried. The link I have regarding this is as follows:-

It's on page 7 of this pdf...

Help!!!

Hi Pete,

Don't worry. Your case will have been transferred to another IP and you should contact them immediately. This won't affect the smooth completion of your IVA.

You can check who your IP is here: http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/
And you can email him here: http://www.insolvency-service.co.uk/newipsearch.htm
Take care,

If this has happened as you describe, your IP will have insurance in place to deal with any lost money.

Ellingworth left Kingsgate years ago, there's no need to worry. He lost his license way after he left Kingsgate, so you've no probs there

Did you ring them Pete-F?

If you haven't yet. I would you advise you to speak to one of the IP's there, Greg Mullarkey or Dean Smith who could put your mind at ease. Both are excellent IP's and will be happy to talk to you.

Greg has already posted on the forum and hopefully Pete has contacted him.

Hi everyone.

I have contacted Kingsgate and although they have put my mind at rest I would have preferred to have been told up front by the company who I have entrusted, well my life to! In addition to this the member of staff I spoke to was extremely abrupt and although I got the answer I wanted I now feel like I've been made out to be some kind of time waster by the lady I spoke to at Kingsgate. I should have took her name really but was so appalled at how she spoke to me I had to hang up. Roll on the end of my IVA!! I just hope I don't have to speak to anyone there again... one thing I don’t understand is why my Supervisor is not shown as working at Kingsgate on the Insolvency Service website (find an IP)?!

Hi Pete,

Sorry you had a bad experience earlier, please try to contact us again. It has been pointed out elsewhere that some IP's provide services under contract to IVA providers and this does not affect the quality of the IP.

Pete, my IP is not shown as working for my company but I know that he does.

Please try and contact Kingsgate again as suggested above and hopefully you can sort out your problem with your contact there.
