A counter signed photograph, signed by someone known to you in a position of authority, should be sufficient for your IP to perform their identity checks.

Hopefully My IP will provide more real time answers tomorrow .

Well they are happy with my Photo for ID as I also sent them a copy of my expired Passport.
I need to send them a few more payslips and examine the Income/ Expeditures draft they have sent me. Found a discrepancy on that one as they list both rent and housekeeping as 2 seperate things which puts my expenses at £200 more than they should be. They are calling again tomorrow as we didn't have time to cover everything today so will pass that info on.
They are also sending me a SIP3 checklist which they are speaking to me about tomorrow .
Also got an email to say my proposal is almost ready to be finalised .

Had my first telephone call from one of the creditors this evening and to be honest it went better than I expected. I was told it was their collections dept and I had defaulted on a payment and charges would be applied .I told them that i was going through an IVA and he asked me how much I could send now . Told him I could send nothing , that's why I was doing an IVA . Ok thank you for your time was the response.

Okies second call today to go through the SIP3 checklist , after that I was told why there were 2 entries for both housekeeping and rent . It seems I never mentioned food in amongst my expenses and they applied the second to show this . I have asked them to change the wording to reflect this though .
I had the SIP3 checklist waiting for me when I got home which I have thoroughly checked and signed along with another form (forgot what its called ) , which will be posted back to them in the morning.
I was advised that the proposal will be sent to me for checking within a couple of days and then they will proceed .
Had a call this evening from Halifax over a defaulted payment and I advised them of my situation . I was asked how my circumstances had changed so I told her about losing £400/£600 a month for the last 18 months due to loss of Overtime and she was actualy quite supportive . Told me that she was putting a stop on my account for 30 days to give time for my IP to get in touch and creditors meeting could be arranged .
This surprised me as the Halifax is my biggest debt (well Halifax and BoS together ) and I was expecting hassle from those .

More as it happens !

Recieved the draft proposal this morning and spent a good while reaing through it all .
Signed everything and sent it straight back . So now I guess it is just a matter of waiting for a meeting date to be arranged . Would be nice to get it sorted before Christmas , then I can start the New year afresh .
Forgot to ask my IP but if I have funds left in my bank account at the end of any one month , are I expected to pay them in or can I start a savings account and build up a fund "just in case" things crop up in the future . If I do this am I limited to what I can actually save ?

Hi Shane,

Hope you can get a meeting before Christmas.

You are allowed to keep any savings you have made at the end of each month and a savings account is to be encouraged.

Thanks Jan . Just opened a savings account and intend anything left at end of the month to be transferd to it.
Ideally I would love to get 6 months repayments saved , so I know that if I lose work I can keep on paying while I find alternative employment.

I hope it won't come to that Shane. Keep saving, if nothing else it's there if you need to fund anything expensive. If you can manage to keep on saving, it could get you a nice holiday at the end.

I hope so as well , but these things happen and I think better to prepare in advance ,than panic if it ever did .
Like you say It might pay for a holiday at the end of it all and will definatley be a good emergency fund .
