I got all the budget plans and financial statements from my files.
4 in total form banks mortgage providers etc.
Its amazing how different they all are. I have put all the headings on one sheet. Its amazing how you miss things lke hair, nails, medication and many others.
My Mrs has to upkeep appearance for work. Plus she has to spend more on her hair cos she aint white and its dear.
I think these things can be easily justified!

Naills yes, had to dump that luxury, I suppose this is understandable really as this is classed as a luxury. I think, without checking, we have something like £18 per month for 4 off us to get our hair cut. That's a laugh!! I only ever have a trim and two boys at £5 each, at the cheapest, plus husband. Does'nt even get close to £18, and young boys hair grows fast!!!

I'm not sure manicures are considered essential and neither would actual cost of haircuts be taken into account. I think £10 per month per adult is about avg. I get more but have a medical condition with my hair and could provide a diagnosis letter from the doctor. It interesting that clothing allowances can be raised because vie just gone into fashion pr and will be on the telly so need to keep on-trend. PS I wasn't told about the telly until after I started!
We're allowed £10 for hair and certainly nothing for nails. I wear a uniform for work and so not too worried about my clothing allowance but a lot of what I wear comes either from Ebay or supermarkets for cheapness.

kallis3 - I'm like you to ebay for clothes and I have bought shoes from there also, a bit risky as you can't try them on prioir, but I got a cracking pair brand new heals for £4.99 the other week and have had a lot of good remarks about them. This was one of the reasons that I was concerned about bank statements as I even buy my dogs monthly tablets from ebay and there is quite a few transactions that I thought my IP would pick up on.

I've bought loads of shoes from there in the past. My work boots came from there and I'm still wearing them daily after about four years!

Our hair allowance is £23. Mine costs £15 for a cut and blow dry and thats cheap. Son has his done for £5 and hubby's is £7.50 - we already have a shortfall.
Son started school in September and we have to pay a nursery fund of £3 per week, and the upkeep of his uniform. My brother bought his school shoes at start of Sept and he has already grown out of them!!
I had to give the school £50 last Monday morning for nursery fund (they want it termly) And school photos. Obviously when it comes my review I will be adding these extras (bar the photos). I need heating oil and I have about £2 in my bank account to last until friday
My hair costs £12 for a dry cut, that's all I can manage. Hubby does his own with the clippers.
I'm so glad my daughter is an adult now!

I have someone come to the house now who is very cheap and I hate to think how much I've spent in the past in a top salon in town and it looks no different now.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Hi Melanie
I wasn't meaning a list of the maximum allowances they could claim for, more an actual list of items that could be claimd for. It's only since I've been on the forum that I've realised that people can claim a cigarette allowance, additional clothing allowance for special professions etc. I'm OK with the rest of my allowances (although they can be tight), its mainly the food and school/work lunches as mentioned previously.
Perhaps I'm having a senior moment but I'm struggling to get round how my payment at review remained the same although there was less disposable income.
Still hoping Declan will see this post and may be able to assist on the food and school/work lunch front[:)]

our proposed hair allowance is £5 a month, as we get our hair cut every 10 weeks or so it will usually mean 3 months saved, daughter and I go to the local salon for dry trims and it costs £12. Hubby does his own.
I don't think it makes a difference about dry trims to wet cut cos we usually end up sorting it out again once we get home LOL they never seem to comb it right.
When I worked at DFD, they did not use CCCS guidelines, they used the CFS so the guidelines are slightly different.
Declan will be able to confirm if they still do
