Hi,
I finished my IVA nearly 18mths ago and still Egg PLC will not remove a default from my credit file even though this amount was included in the IVA. The default is dated 2years after the IVA began and shows monthly on my credit file as 'D'. I have sent letters to Egg requesting them to remove this but have not had a response at all. Any advice would be greaqtly appreciated as I'm feeling at a complete loss where to turn. My husband and I would like to apply for a mortgage but this is preventing us from doing so.
Thanks Andy for your reply. I have already written to Egg outlining my intention to write to the ICO but haven't had a response at all. I am just in the process of collating documents to support my complaint to the ICO and hopefully they will respond within the forty days as stated.
I am also going to contact my supervisor again and see if they can help in any way. Not too hopeful on that though as they were quite sure last time I contacted them that it was up to me to contact Egg directly.
Thanks again

Hi there,
Details on the credit report are;
Effective dates Start 10/12/2001
Default 06/2006
End 27/06/2006
Monthly status is showing as 'D'
I don't receive anything from Egg at all. I have posted the documents required by the ICO to support my complaint so hopefully I will hear back soon(ish).
Did you address your complaint to the Data Controller at Egg? Their address can be found on the register of Data Controllers on the ICO web site.
You will get an acknowledgement from the ICO with a case reference number, but don't expect a quick resolution! It took the ICO 10 months to look at my complaint.
During that time I continued to write to the Data Controller at the creditor & informed them that the case had now been referred to the ICO & gave them the reference number.
By the time the ICO started to look at it, the creditor had corrected their mistake which I believe was due to my persistence quoting quidelines etc.
I only requested a copy of my credit file in November last year and discovered the default then which appears to be an ongoing monthly status from what I can gather. I waited a year after my IVA had completed so that I could start clearing anything over 6 years old. With hindsight I should have began this process sooner but actually I think I just didn't want to see my credit file really and have my hopes of eventually getting a mortgage dashed!
Yes, I did address my letter to the Data Controller at Egg and I am going to try your method MP1965 of bombardment
Thanks for your interest and replies
