Excited it's finally payday on Thursday! That means another IVA payment goes out on Friday and I can't wait to tick it off my list...the next payment will after that will be the big 2 0. A third of the way through ***wipes sweat from brow***
Ticking is good, I have a excel spreadsheet which I tick off every month and enter the payment amount next to the month.
At the start it felt dishartening, looking at all the dates and blank cells next to them, but as you move closer to the end you feel a sense of achievement.
Seeing the final total on the page does make me feel a little sick though, as it just went over 40k and I think what that money could have done for me.
I'm going to save my IVA payment in a sepearate bank account for 5 years by standing order as soon as I'm finished paying the IVA.

i just alter my countdown on here. Can't cope with Excel at all, never been able to. As long as I can manage the day to day accounts then I'm happy.
My secured loan finishes shortly after my IVA does so I'm going to try and make some big overpayments to the mortgage to finish it sooner.

My sheet is only a page in my Filofax. But it has payment number, date, amount due to be paid and a tick where I've paid in full or a D for deferred and the amount. So it works pretty well for me. I do get antsy to make the next payment and tick it off about a week before it's due though. I think it's a good sign that when my bank text me I'd been paid today, I got excited about paying my iva rather than thinking about shopping. I love it even when it's only a trot around Waitrose sadly.
I highlight the dates at the beginning of my diary (where it shows in calendar form) and have a huge circle around 16th July! Its great to be on the same year page now. x
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!

I'm actually a rarity these days in that I'm paid weekly. I don't like the first and last weeks of the month though, as that's when all my dd's are taken and my bank account empties.

I like having a lot of money in my account - even if it is only for a couple of days!

To watch the counter go down however we monitor our journey has to be a great satisfaction for any of us within an IVA, I'm making payment 36 tomorrow...either 24 or 36 months to go depending on things! either way feels good. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
