What does 'SS' on your credit file mean ?

It could just be two records of S, when they report monthly on your file - I suspect S = Satisified.

You can always check with the CRA concerned as to what the codes are.

I've been away over the weekend so didn't have access to the net hence couldn't get back to you all.Only got the gist about this site through a friend as l've been struggling to pay off my credit card debts.I.m owing a particular credit card company the sum of £5,000.00 and just recently offered £2,500.00 in a bid to have the rest written off.They agreed but however said they would have to register 'SS' on my credit file to last for 5yrs, something l've now been told means 'short settlement' which l still can't understand.What l was negotiating was a final one-off settlement.
