Mercers were my worst creditors - even after the proposal had been sent out!

They should stop phoning when they get the quote, but the communication across the banks isnt that good and some call centre agents will just have an outbound calling list. I would ignore the calls, put phone on vibrate and only answer numbers you recognise.

Good luck Scott!!

I wish mine was just 3 days away! I've got to wait until 16th Feb! Not sure i can cope much longer with creditors calling me all the time wanting money out of me!!

What is the best way to tell them your current situation? cause surely they are aware because the proposal is sent to them. [:(]

The vast majority don't stop phoning when they get the proposal - there is little communication between the call centres and those that deal with the IVAs.

Hi, IVA approved, 30p in £. quite pleased, manageable payments and total iva amount outstanding will reduce quite quickly, providing possible future option of making a pay off offer, thus reducing iva duration. For the meantime, i can take daughter to pictures and pay for swimming without putting food costs on C Cards.

I have done this too. Yet banks do not understand why? Its a crazy process, they want you to tell them confidential details over phone, but wont tell you what the call is about. When IVA in place, no more talking to banks, almost as good as on the road to being debt free. 10 creditors and 10 banks phoning me all the time was v stressful, now ive just got one for essential DD's

I love listening to my wife speaking to call centres -- she always refuses to answer the security questions, rightly saying how does she know THEY are who they say they are!

Best of Luck - hope there is not to many bumps during your IVA.

Takes a bit of getting used to - not relying on the plastic CC, but when you next have one after your IVA, you will question yourself everytime you use it.:-)
