Hi, I sent off my IVA proposal signed today and will see when the creditors meeting is going to be set up. Today they told me at work that we are getting 0.4 payrise backdated to August. So even though the payrise is minimal I'll get a few hundred pounds this month. Will it have to go towards my IVA even though it hasn't been approved yet? Will I be able to keep it as my 'emergency' funds in my newly opened saving account?

Not sure hun. I'd ask to keep it to help with prep for the iva. A car service, boiler service or something else that will help the next few years go smoothly will be invaluable to you.

Thanks! Also i'm trying to pass my practical driving test (failed again today!) because i'm the main carer for my mother and driving licence would be handy, would that (test fees) be regarded as acceptable expenses?

Hi Intrepid
It best to discuss this with your IVA provider to be sure. I’m also pretty sure that the fees for the driving test will also be deemed acceptable as it’s a necessity.
On a separate note, I passed my driving test about 6 months ago on my second attempt so I fully understand the nerves, best to try and stay calm and you will be fine. Best of luck with it.

Thanks

Ask your IP if you can offset the back pay towards your driving lessons as they are necessary in your case.

Good luck with the driving, it took me 3 attempts to pass..you CAN do it [:D]
