I have now spoken to 2 Iva companies, many of my questions have been answered and i do feel this is the right way to go.
My biggest problem now is which one to use, how have others decided who to use, is it through reccomendation or just pot luck through your own choice.

Go with however makes you feel most comfortable. Most proposals will be similar but five years is a long time and aftercare is very important.

If both understood and were sympathetic to your unique situation...then go with your gut! You could name the two here...which I'm sure will generate a few responses from their clients posting on the site!!

Both were very sympathetic but both very different outcomes from the same figures. Monthly payments being £73 difference.

You need to chosse a company that makes you feel listened to, answers your questions, explains everything clearly, has calculated your disposable income correctly, has taken into account everything you have told them, is responsive to your queries, is efficient in the way they are hadling your case, has a great success record for approvals, has a good reputation for how they deal with clients, is responsive to changes that may come up during the 5 years (client reviews will tell you that) and lastly as Michael and BOL says - go with your gut instinct.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

ps if you still can't chosse then either you need to speak to a 3rd or do the reversed coin toss. Pick company A as heads and Company B as tails. toos the coin - if it falls on heads and you think "phew I'm glad its them" you know who to pick. If you tihnk "oh no, I wished it was the others" then you know to pick company B!!

Try and contact both again and make sure they're contactable, all too often on the forum I read the frustration of not being able to speak with your IP. I'm with Melanie Giles who does post on the forum and chose her after joining the forum.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Great you've made a decision Keith - now you can get on with the process in hand and hope it all goes well for you.

Keep the coin toss idea for another time - remember its no the result that tells you your answer its your reaction to it! I use it when trying to decide Chinese or Indian!

Best wishes,

Well done for making the decision. It is never easy but if you have spoken to two different advisors and picked the company you felt most comfortable with, this is the right way to proceed. Good luck with the application process :)

Hi
A company that you can easily communicate with is so important. Five years will often not run smoothly so good communication is essential.
Good luck

Glad you have made that decision Keith.

Can you tell us which company you have chosen?
