Blimey Lesley! I couldn't go that long without a drink! First thing I do in a morning is make a coffee. Drink loads of coffee at work as well.

wow,
i didnt realise so much stuff got posted while i was away from here - its actually really kinda comforting to hear that people can relate to me - so many people see migraines as a "headache", and if u have to ask a migraineur the kind of pain they feel, its actually so bad, it does literally floor u....!

Julie and Broke of London, i also get the yawning symptoms as a first sign, and suddenly get very tired, which is terrible when at work, coz i just lose the will to carry on, and being in a demanding sales job, theres no time for rest (just about a lunch break if ur lucky), then i get very moody, and then suddenly, BAM! it hits me.. its terrible...

Also Julie, I work for a small company and their arguemnt is, "we believe you, we are not denying that you are suffering, its just affecting our business and we are losing money as u are a vital part of the team that generates the income", and thats why ive been given the disciplinaries - so they will have no interest in refering me to anyone to be assessed by. :(
Have tried 2 types of preventative treatments but both messed me up even more -so waiting to see the Neurologist at kings college who specialises in migraines as i got referred to the neurologist who specialises in Parkinsons Disease who couldnt help!! (oh how the NHS mess up!!) So yes, its a waiting game at the moment......

Kallis,I would be interested in speaking to Julie some more so if you could put us in touch or let me know how to go about it that would be great, or if you read this Julie, please do let me know...!

Thanks again guys, [8D]

Thanks for forwarding on the email address Jan. My laptop is playing up and for some reason I can't open emails, so I will email you a brief note from my ipod, so at least you have my contact details s-star2009. I'll be able to email you properly tomorrow.

Like I've told other posters, I can't promise to be able to find a solution, but I will do my best for you. xx

Julie will certainly do her best s-star. She's great with HR issues.

I hope Julie can help. It's an awful position to be in and you should take legal advice on whether this is a valid reason for dismissal. My specialist prescribed beta blockers as they are supposed to have the least side effects. Have you tried them yet?

I thought betablockers were only for high blood pressure? I take those.

They are also used for anxiety conditions.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hey guys,
ive just logged on and seen an email from Julie, thanks again Kallis for passin my email over :) im going to get replying to that for sure..

In regards to medications, im not allowed to go down the beta blocker route as i have a history of asthma and the two dont mix well[|)]

Also tried two kinds of anti epileptic drugs, one called Topamax which had terrible side effects to the point where my day to day functioning was worse than if i did have a migraine :-/

The past 3.5 years have jus a been a horrible cycle, every single month -im yet to have a migraine free month, its just craziness...
Hoping the neurologist will have some kind of resolution 3rd time round.........

Although a few people have mentioned that becuase its causing negative effects on day to functioning, that it could be classed as a disibility but i know with migraines its a grey area.

But i guess its one step at a time really -going to email Julie a detailed email 1st thing in the morning and just get an overview on the current situation as it stands... [8)]
