Congratulations but pity about the uplift. Where did the creditors take the £40 from?

I can't believe it - it seems like so long ago that we were worrying every minute of every day thinking what if it is not accepted. I can finally start a sentence without "If the IVA goes through...". I think I will sleep well tonight. Thank you everyone on here who has supported us with advice and kind words!

If the expenses are justifiable your IP could fight the creditors. Your meeting can be adjourned for up to 14 days and there is no point in agreeing to something that might put you under pressure down the line. Car repairs are essential so even if that part was restored it would be a little easier.

Excellent news Frenchie but do make sure that the uplift is affordable.

I agree but we did some sums before and decided to accept anything up to 50 pounds extra - we are going to be a little more frugal with our shopping.

excellent news and welcome to the road of debt freedom.. ensure your I&E is always what it actually costs you and with the uplift already in place by £40 be realistic when you need to consider asking for a increase in your allowances - well done and have a small drink to celebrate !

really pleased for you Frenchie, but agree with the others, £40 uplift is a lot and don't just agree to it without ensuring it really is affordable xx

Congratulations and so long as you're confident you can afford the uplift then you're on your way to debt freedom and I hope your journey is a very smooth one. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Congratulations --- like you we worked out what we could afford by way of uplift, which was about £50 .. and got away with £26 :-)

Happy Days ... well done :0)

Well done frenchie.... although this is an excellent result and you might not want to rock the boat, are you absolutely sure you are ok with the uplift?... if not, then have a word with your IP. I'm sure they will be happy to negotiate with your creditors to come to an affordable figure.

Well done to you anyway....
