You can only claim for the basic package, but if you can make savings from other allowances then you can add as many packages as you want. We have an entertainment/hobbies allowance and that goes towards our Sky package.

Ok thanks, that's something we could look at doing. Also, how do you prove that you've spent the money on satellite rather than hobbies etc.? I can't get my head round how much you can juggle - i.e take from one allowance to help with another? Sorry if this is the wrong thread for these questions!
Lou
I've never had to prove what I spend mine on. My Sky is my entertainment. You need to be able to make savings to fund anything else - if you spend less on your shopping or clothing allowances for example.

Our weekly shopping bill is currently around £140 for 5. I'm trying to cut this back by searching out offers/shopping at the end of the day etc.. If I do manage to cut it back and therefore was able to put £20 per week in savings for birthdays/xmas (3 children), would my food allowance be cut at the review stage?
Thanks, Lou
excuse me for been slow but i dont get it! what happened to compassion arnt you allowed this in a iva!
bad enough beeb diagnosed with a illnes ,then to find out its critical! last thing id be doing is handing money over rightly or wrongly!
It's unlikely that your allowance would be cut back Lou - I can make savings some weeks but not others and I put down the average of what we spend.
Most IP's will encourage savings and you do need to do that for birthdays and Christmas.
What you could look at doing as well are online surveys. Most pay in vouchers which are useful at Christmas - it's what funds a lot of mine. Time consuming but worth it in the end.

I do Valued Opinions, have been doing a few since October and have £35 to date[:)]Also do Ipsos but only have about £15 there, easy money if you have the time
Opinion World are fine BOL, I've been with them for years, Valued Opinions are great and YouGov is another one.
If anyone wants pointing in the direction of a few surveys then let me know and I'll email you some links off forum.

I do mysurvey as well and have already built up about £10 of points in 6 weeks! I also have started doing valued opinions. Any other reputable ones would be welcome. Although they take time it is more than worth it in the long run!
