OK..Estate Agents are booked for Thurs & Mon, I've phoned the mortgage people and secured loan people for redemption statements, opened a new bank account, moved some direct debits...just need to be a bit smart and get my pay moved accross on Thursday morning when it goes into my soon to be old account.
Is there anything else I could be doing to get everything together for my IP? I will be writing to creditors this weekend, and am dreading the day when the phone calls start (can put it on silent if needs must)
am trying to keep busy-think I'm better when I'm at work than when I'm at home...too much time on my hands, and I don't say that very often!!
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice!

Your on the ball ! Well done - get through the initial call from creditors and you will be fine. Why not let your IP contact your creditors - you shouldn't need to if you are entering an IVA - let them do it formally ! Keep posting and let us all know how things are going !

Hi T.O.H
Not so much for your IP but if you have credit cards where you can amend details online, any where you have your home phone number or work phone number in the contact details amend these to your mobile number if possible, this should lessen the amount of cals to your home or work number.

Well done! Getting there :0)

I didn't write to any of my creditors ( or pay them), of the 14 I only had calls from 4 or 5 of them (and one of those was to wish me luck!). One of them did ring a few times though. Think I got off lightly.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Make sure your bank account you currently used is closed. Go in when it has a positive balance and tell them to close it and remove the balance.

This may mean some payments fail but you just tell the ones you are going to continue to pay that you changed bank account and just give them the details when they contact you.

I failed to do this and Yorkshire Bank cleverly created a £2000 debt purely from charges and are getting 58% back via my IVA. Still very bitter about that as they voted against the IVA as well.
Last Payment - November 2011 - Completion Certificate received 2 weeks after last payment, Removed from Insolvency Register within 4 weeks after last payment.

I've been speaking to Tina at Melanie Giles. She's been spot on...I must admit to being a bit of a control freak (probably why I've been running round getting bits and bobs together lol!) I have removed my work/home number from any online accounts...but my work number might be floating around somewhere and that would be my worst nightmare - I share an office, and a phone with a bloke I work with, don't really won't to be sharing this with him - much as we do get on - suppose I'll cross that bridge as and when!

And also if they do call you and you do not wish to talk to them, then do not answer their security questions & then they cant continue the call.....apparently :-)

I didn't contact any creditors - 4 called me and i just advised them on my IP and Ref no and left it at that...
I have to say i have got off lightly..since i got the creditor meeting date through - i've had no contact from any of them which is surprising.
my old bank account is still open - mainly cause i don't think i'll be able to close it when i owe them an overdraft but there is only around £15 in it.

hiya ive been asked for full terms and conditions of my mortgage, which i had probably thrown out years ago, so i'm waiting on the bank to send these out, it may be worth getting them ready incase they are required in future.

Thanks for that Kat, I've only been in my deal for 18mths, and I think all the arrangement stuff is in a file..I haven't got a reference number or anything from Tina yet.
I too have an overdraft with my bank that will form part of my IVA..they are a bit of a concern as they've got just about 1/2 of my debt, so really need them on board.

Hiya I called to get a reference number, only because when creditors called they asked for one. They gave me a number but said they don't tend to use them as that know all of their clients by name. I think that is so nice, that your a person not a number.

I'm with Mel and don't have a reference number some creditors just wouldn't believe that!

I think you're right on track with what you're doing, well done for being organised. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
