Thanks everyone,
The past year has certainly been different, some good things and some bad but overall good, we both have had to learn to be more cautious with what money we have, although we have both had moments of splurging.
It started off going really slowly with me more or less counting the days down but the last 3 months have flown by. Hopefully now we are into a routine and once we have the 1st review accomplished it will be plain sailing, We do have a contingency fund, hoarded away in case anything breaks down so hopefully there wont be too many problems along the way. Apart from the cooker which we know we need to replace this year as the grill is only half working and the oven does not reach the right temperature, most of our kitchen equipment was bought within the last 4 years so I am not expecting anything else to break. With living in a council property we do not have to worry about boilers breaking etc as the council would repair them.
So really we are looking and feeling quite positive about the next 4 years, 20% down that feels good.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine
