Well we have confirmed the cost of childcare and my new reduced salary due to my illness and have completed a revised income and expenditure form so now we just wait again to find out if out if my parents offer is worth putting forward. I hate all this waiting! How much allowance should you put down for a cat? We have never had anything in our budget and we pay £9 cat insurance and I have put down £10 a month for car food, worming and vaccinations, is that too much do you think? If they don't accept our offer do we then try for the lower monthly amount or is it all done in one go? With a lower amount is the difference then tagged on the end cos if it is we would have a very long IVA as we are doing a 6 year one anyway then with the equity problem would be 7 years, not sure I could cope with it being even longer.

Hi - put down what you spend on the cat and your IP can advise whether it needs to be reduced or not. Sometimes payment reductions are agreed with a longer term and sometimes the term isn't affected...I guess it just depends on the creditors. Keep your fingers crossed for the full and final. xx

This is going to sound really bad but we have never had the money to get her worked or get her vaccines done. She is fed and we have got pet insurance but she needs some TLC as we have had her for over a year now. I have no idea how much these things cost but remember them being a fortune when my parents paid for the cat. Maybe I should phone vets and ask as I put down £10 for food, worming, de-fleeing, vaccines etc and £9 insurance.

Have already put down £10 a month and was worried they would say I was being greedy. We haven't had anything in the budget for her before so £10 is better than nothing. Also does anyone know about prescriptions. Both myself and my husband have a monthly prescription but I have read on here somewhere that you can do it monthly or something to save costs?

We have a cat and the cat food is integral with our houskeeping, have not included anything seperate for vaccies or stuff. We buy our fleadrops from http://www.petfleas.co.uk/ works out way way cheaper. saved loads from here. Buy worming from petshop and do it ourselves.

Prescriptions...we have just last month sorted ours out. We were originally buying the quartly prepay certificate for my Hubby but as his meds are never likely to change we have sorted out monthly direct debit. You pay £10.40 per month for ten months. Once you set it up they will send you email confirmation, payment came out about two weeks later and then 7-10 days after first payment you get the card certificate. It definatley has its benefits. Currently it would cost £35 a month for presc for my hubby.

The maximum allowance under CCCS guidelines is £23 for pet food and insurance - which in most cases barely would cover the food let along the insurance - but if you are like me I would eat bread and water before seeing my beloved JRTs out of their sausages!

Thank you all. I think What I put was very reasonable. Hopefully we will be able to get Bella sorted out soon. Trouble is there is a long list of things in front of her that need paying for at the moment x

We used to have a dog called Bella!

We claim £25 a month for pet food and insurance and that's for three dogs. We've just had to pay £37 for annual boosters for the little one. Thankfully they're done at seperate times during the year!
