Hello,
Please can you help in this matter, when we took out our iva our income was about £100.00 higher a month, and i have a few more outgoings, washing mac broke so rent for twenty pounds a month and petrol going up, for work. Can i ask for our income and expenditure to change, as in sep the amount we a pay a month into our iva goes up by two hundred and fifty pounds, which would be more than we earn after everything else!
Thank you Julie

Hi Julie,

You can ask for your I&E to be reviewed at anytime. I'd speak to your IP urgently as you do seem to be having a few problems.

As regards the washing machine, could you not ask for a payment break in order to buy a new one or look at something like Freecycle so you're not paying out this extra a month?

Which company are you with?

More recent protocol IVA's allow for 15% of your IVA payment either way before a variation meeting has to be called to put it before the creditors for approval. i.e small adjustments in I & E can be authorised by your I.P so as Jan says I would give them a call first thing tomorrow. They will be fine about it and deal with this sort of thing all the time.

Hi - definitely have a word with your IP. Loss of income and additional legitimate expenses are both very good reasons for adjusting your monthly payment to a more affordable level.

It's not as if you could even use a launderette for £20pm!!
