Congratulations from me as well - what a fantastic feeling!

6 months to close your case? Why so long?

Congratulations!
I don't know whether it is the norm with GT but I also have 6 months added onto the end of my IVA for 'administration' purposes!

Judo, hopefully it will be closed faster than that ---- it's just to give them time if needed (mind you, some do take that long!). At least you aren't making payments during that "extra" 6 months !!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

well done to everyone looking at finishing in the near future - cant imagine *the end* yet, just made it through the beginning!!!
Good luck for the future, what will you be doing with all that lovely *extra* money each month, will you stick with the budgeting?
We plan on blowing it for a couple of months-nothing silly, but I expect our house may need a bit of updating, and a lovely holiday abroad - then getting our sensible heads back on and paying off the mortgage before hubby retires!!!
Northern Rock will be the last biggie for us to get shut of, so our real celebrations will start when the mortgage is gone-MY GOD-WE WILL BE LOADED!!!!!
OLD,VERY OLD-BUT LOADED!!!!!
full and final accepted January 2015

iva agreed; August 2010
iva would have completed; August 2017
extra year thank's to NRAM

I dont know why it will take so long but as long as its done and dusted thats all that matters. Ive already opened a new savings account and all the money that went into the IVA will now go into this. I wont realise how good it feels till that big chunk of money goes into my savings account instead of GT coffers.
