I still don't see why they insist on linking the price of oil to gas.

I mean, they are completely different things. If gas demand is low why should prices rise on the back of oiul prices increasing?

Probably to boost profits... or maybe i'm just a cynic ....

I believe another supplier (Scottish?) who increased theirs by about 20% a few weeks ago is being investigated.

I'm with Scottishpower who i believe were the first to hike their prices, thankfully in feb i saw an advert for capping till 2013 so i duly did this and very grateful for having done it too, mind didn't show on my account until i phoned them a few weeks ago, im so glad i did as i would have had to pay the increased amount grrrr.

We're with British Gas and have been on a capped tariff which expires in September. They emailed recently and offered another capped tariff until 2013 so we decided to do that. The price has gone up, but at least for the best part of 2 years we'll know what we're paying as I'm sure prices will go up again.

Don't blame you Skip! I think prices will get worse before they get better.

I`m with British Gas for my Gas and Electric. I haven`t had any notification of how much my direct debits will increase by yet and my review is due shortly, so I`ll just have to add 18% (about £20) to my gas and electric payments on my expenditure sheet and hope that my case admin. accepts it if I haven`t had any written notification from British Gas.
I tried to cap my gas and electricity prices recently, but British Gas had suspended any capping deals by then.
It`s not going to be worth the hassle of trying to change suppliers because they will all follow suit, give 1-2%.
I am slightly concerned now where it`s all going to end as my outgoings will have increased by £120 per month in the first year since I started my IVA.
I think variation meetings are going to be common place in the not to distant future...Lets just hope creditors are sympathetic.

I think these energy companies are having a laugh, they seem to use any excuse now to hike prices.

I did a uswitch at the end of last year from EDF to Scottish Power and it cost me dearly, no sooner had I done 3 months with SP they hiked their prices to a ridiculous level so I switched back to EDF and was left with a £100 SP gas bill for my troubles. These dirt cheap tariffs they offer seem to be a con to get new business??

Interested to read of the fixed tariffs on here, will look into that most definitely as like everyone else any changes to payments are really difficult with an IVA.

I've been with Atlantic now for a number of years and have been happy with the prices and the customer service. My payments have yet to increase so I'll stay with them for the time being.

We like to have everything fixed if we can as OH is self employed and it helps us budget if we know exactly what's going out each month as far as possible.

OVO - have fixed tariffs for a year (there are two types - 15% green and 100% green.

You do however need to pay by Direct debit.

The prices vary from area to area - but always worth a quick check
