We have now had a date for our creditors meeting for 13th July where our full and final offer will be presented. We have to be positive and hope that the creditors will be sensible and accept our offer. It still gives them the same dividend and they will get their money earlier. We will be in dire straits if they want more from my redundancy pay, as I have to take a course to upskill so that I can get another job and still live. We usually don't have money over at the end of the month (it runs out a few days before) so it is like blood from a stone.

I do hope that there is no reason for them to demand all the money we got. It wasn't much and I am finding it really difficult getting another job. People just don't bother getting back to you and I have appied for 34 jobs to date in 6 weeks. :(

So hold thumbs everyone that they agree and that we are finally rid of all this debt and can get one with our lives.[;)]

Hi Sharon - I would say it has a fair chance of succeeding if it has been put forward by your IP. Have you made them aware of the course and your inability to secure employment up until now? As you will say they will be getting their money earlier so would be stupid to reject the offer.
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Fair chance looks wrong in this context - I mean I would say it will be accepted.
Soz for any confusion.

Yup, my IP is fully informed. They know that I will need the rest of the money to survive and to retrain. They also know that I am struggling to get a new job.

I am a little stressed out about this and just hope everything goes well. If they reject it I will be in even worse position than I was at the start of the IVA.

Well, they say beleive it is done and it will be so I am believing!!

I am sure you would have been advised if there was doubt as to acceptance. Not long to wait now - although it will probably be the longest 3 weeks of your life. lol. All you can think is, you've done your bit, stressing and worrying about it will not change the outcome so please try and push it to the back of your mind as much as possible and worry about it nearer the time. Good luck

Thanks guys. It's hard not to stress especially while trying to find work in today's climate. I am competing against hundreds of others.

Anyway, as long as I keep a positive attitude I know it will be alright and I have all the encouragement and support I need here. :)

Thanks again.

Good luck, I'm sure even creditors know that job hunting is difficult right now and that an offer on the table is a genuinely good offer. I really hope you have great news for us in a few weeks!

Wonderful news for us today. Creditors accepted Full and final offer and we are at last debt free.... just the paperwork to complete and it is all over. A long hard slog but well worth it and I have to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Freeman Jones and all the folks on this forum for their support and encouragement throughout our time in the IVA. You will never know just how much it was appreciated and how you all carried us through the darkest hours.

A huge thank you...
