Hi all,
Managed to get through to GT this morning, they haver asked to me to send a copy of the original agreement and a copy of the hpi check that I have had done and they will investigate.
I will kepp you posted on the outcome. Thanks for all comments so far, it would still be interesting to hear from anyone that has been in a similar scenario.
After sending the paperwork through to GT they confirmed that there shouldn't be a marker on the car and they would speak to Santander and ask them to remove it. Whilst I was waiting for GT to respond I did a bit of digging around on some other websites and found that this issue is quite common. I even drafted my own letter stating which parts of the consumer credit act I thought that Santander had breached, just before sending the letter off myself, GT responded and said that they were looking into the matter, so I held back. I emailed them this morning using the IVA Forum subject header for an update and they responded very quickly saying that the matter should be sorted. I have since had another HPI check done on my car and it has come back clear! So, a big thank you to them as I can now get rid of the shed that I have been using for the last 4 years! Hopefully now they will get things going with my IVA completion, the fact that they have now introduced a method of contacting them through this forum that is quick and efficient gives me a lot more confidence that things will eventually get sorted out. Excellent news stu and it is good to see GT getting some positive feedback again on here.
