Hi, Ive been on Long Term Ill Health with my Company for the past 18 months getting 75% of my original wages and now my job is no longer there, they wish to make me redundant. I will only get approx £4,000 in redundancy money so cannot do a F&F settlement as I owe a lot more than that, and I do not wish to go Bankrupt. My partner also pays into the IVA and we pay a total of nearly £600 a month back to the Creditors. We are in the second year of our IVA and I cannot see myself returning back to work, as I am chronically ill and disabled but at the same time, want to carry on with our IVA payments as normal. Will the creditors insist on a monthly wage slip for the IVA to continue as is and force me back to work to get this? Im sure we can try and make the money up somewhere possibly, but will my IP and creditors accept this as a non reliable source of income? What's the best plan of action? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Hi - I'm sorry to hear about your health. You need to have a chat to your IP and let them guide you. What's your health condition - we have some Posters who are very knowledgeable about DLA and they may be able to give you some advice? x

My esa(used to be called incapacity benefit) was included as an income when our iva was being set up, I would talk to your iva company and explain your change in circumstances and look at a full review of your income/expenditure.
If you have a chronic illness your DLA shouldnt be at risk of being stopped.
full and final accepted January 2015
iva agreed; August 2010
iva would have completed; August 2017
extra year thank's to NRAM

Hi - what a list! Have a chat to your IP and see f the creditors will consider your iva settled after you've paid across the redundancy money. Your husband can then continue paying into his iva. x

Thanks all, I doubt very much they will accept the £4,000 as settlement as I owe much more than that and this is only our second year. I will let my IP know though and see what he says
