Hi I have been advised of the date of my creditors meeting and wanted to know how soon after this date my first payment would be due should my proposals be accepted by my creditors?

Mine was a few days after my next payday.

My IVA was agreed on the 3rd August and my first payment was taken out on the 1st September.

I think you can have up to 28 days. My letter regarding creditors meeting said 1st payment had to be received before the meeting but I rang and negotiated it to be received on payday.

I wasnt able to pay mine beforehand as I had no way of doing so. Straight afterwards though I set up the standing order to coincide with payday which was two weeks later. You do have 28 days normally though.

Hi

Thank you for your feedback. Am counting down to creditors meeting - felling very nervous and just hoping all will be okay.

Hi thatns for the feedback. My meeting is on Monday 22 August @ 11.40am (am so nervous!). Was reading thorugh my paperwork last night and they actually want me to make my first payment on the day if all agreed. Unfortunately I do not get paid until 25th of each month. So will have to contact them to advise of this. Nicola

I'm sure that will be fine Nicola - we were supposed to do that but couldn't. Just let them know it will be a few days afterwards.

I'm sure they will be fine about setting a payment date! I paid my first payment the day it was accepted but I wanted to and had the money in the bank so figured sooner started sooner finished!

Good luck with your meeting, you will be nervous as we all are but I'm sure you'll be fine

I planned mine around payday but could not have paid it on the day anyway as I had no debit card or cheque book.

Mine was approved on 31st March and I made my first payment on 30th April as I get paid on 28th of the month. I was told I had to make first payment within 30 days which was why i waited till next payday.
