We have had our Full and final offer accepted on 17th July but have still not received the completion letter. I have been offered a new job and they won't issue me a contract until they can have a copy of the completion letter as they say I still show as being in the IVA on the Insolvency register. As this is a financial job they need the paperwork to prove I have not been bankrupted and that I have paid up my IVA. What is a reasonable timeframe for issuing of the certificate and notifying Insolvency register and creditors?
Hi Sharon - think it varies as to when all the claims are in for the money.
Could you get your IP to do a letter to your prospective employer confirming that F&F funds received and accepted?
The IVA will show on the register for three months after the Insolvency Service receive the completion letter.
Speak to your IP and explain the situation to them. It may be that they can get the letter out to you and this might be enough for your new employer.

I don't think the 3 months is observed these days Jan. I've closed a few cases off lately and the register has been updated in a matter of days.
Chase up that certificate Sharon - it will take about one minute of someone's time to produce, and your new employment should not be jeopardised as a result of undue delay.
Thanks Mel - I thought that was the standard. Brilliant if it does update earlier.

It definitely does update very quickly these days. My IVA completed end of March, completion certificate was issued early April and I was off the register within two days.
ooh i hope we're of the register quickly,i really don't like being on there! i'm not too bothered about our credit rating being shot but will be glad to get off that list![V]

Keep checking the register now - your name will be off soon.

I got my Certificate of Completion within 7 days of my offer being accepted. I was with RE10 and I cannot recommend them highly enough they were fantastic. I have also been removed from the insolvency register.
