I Finished my IVA Jan this year. I'm currently getting my Credit File updated so all dates are correct etc...
From reading other posts, that my file should be clean Jan 2012 6 years after the start date of my IVA.
The question I have, What is my chances of getting a mortgage say next June (6 1/2 years after my IVA Start date)
Me & My Girlfriend would have saved at least a 30% deposit. She as a A1 Credit Rating & the mortgage we would require would only be twice our annual income.
I don't need a Credit card, but once I've got my credit file updated I was going to try for a credit card only for a credit rating.
Has anyone have any tips for getting a good credit rating apart from a credit card.
Failing that use a whole market broker - be upfront and honest about your IVA from the start - to "Not tell the truth" on a mortgage application is illegal and you could risk a fraud charge.
Most mortgage application will ask - whether you have in the past enter a debt management arrangment.
Hi - Nationwide and Nat West have been supportive of one of our posters and only needed to see the completion certificate. Good luck - things aregetting easier! X

More than happy to share my broker details with you - he has recently said to me that the mortgage world is beginning to open up again ! We got a mortgage after our IVA finished this year however had to have a 50% deposit - by the time you are ready I am sure a 30% deposit will be fine - if you want his details respond on here and admin will then send them to me and I can email you direct with them.

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
If you could get the details that would be great [:)]
We've been working out the pennies & hopefully by June next year we should have a 40% deposit
Hopefully it'll be enough

Hi Breezerboy - as per my last post, my IVA came off my credit report last month and I have been approved for a mortgage with a 29% deposit from Northern Rock. I have used a mortgage broker who was completely honest about my IVA, and I had been approved by Nationwide - it was just my husband who wasn't! I would definitely recommend you use a mortgage broker. Good luck!
