Hi all, alot of people are saying about waiting until the six years are up now, does this mean six years ish after your IVA was completed? or six years from your IVA completing?
Thanks
Oh good, I had this terrible thought that it was another 6 years after it finishes. You'd be stuck under an IVA cloud for 11 years potentially otherwise! Thank you once again
Just a point to add. The IVA stays on your file for 6 years from start of your IVA however if your IVA is longer than this it will remain on your file until it completes. This mite be the case for anyone with NRAM as a creditor & equity in property as 12 months extra payments is usually made instead of a new mortgage as it's near impossible to get one!
The road is 72months long starting September 2010.
Building your credit up normally means that you have to take loans and buy on credit. Otherwise your credit stays bad, doesn't it?
I am just wondering.
Kazbaz - if you have a mobile phone contract this can improve your credit rating after an IVA. Also a lot of posters get vanquis cards when they finish their IVA's and clear the balances each month.
Agree with Foggy that it can stop you getting credit, other than that I don't think it does.
