Bad news today (or at least it could be) had IVA accepted Tuesday, great news so pleased, then went to drop children at school today (20 mins away) came back to the car and it wouldnt start, waited 1hr for in laws to come help me, tried to jump start it and no luck, so car has now been towed to the garage, and I am just waiting to see what the problem is and how much its going to cost me, fingers crossed its not a big problem and before anyone asks (as my father in law did) it did have petrol in it lol, anyway trying to look on the bright side at least I have some money in the bank that we have mananged to save in the couple of months it has taken for my IVA to be accepted.
I do hope it's nothing serious. Everything crossed that the money you have saved will be enough to cover any repairs.

Nanz - it is typical. OH needed a new battery (for his van, not for him!!) within a month of our IVA starting. These things will happen and I just remind myself that before the IVA I had no credit or money to pay for these things anyway!!
I try now to bulk buy food for the cupboard and freezer when on offer now so if anything does goes wrong I can rob the housekeeping fund.
I agree Kazza if this had happened 6mths ago i wouldnt have had the money to pay for it and would have been really worried, still waiting to hear from the garage, but my husband is up now (he has been on nightshift) so will let him deal with them, i am afraid to say I have no idea about cars and how much things cost to fix, anyway its his fault he jinxed us as it was only yesterday that he said "lets hope the car lasts for the 6yrs we are in an IVA" lol
lol - tell him to keep it shut from now on! At least you have a little fund for this. Let's hope it's simple to fix. It is a worry as to whether they will last through the IVA but don't forget - you can ask for a payment break if something like this happens again. I am hoping we never have to, but realistically I know something will go wrong in the next 4 1/2 years.
Well thank goodness for that, turns out it was just the battery in my key apparently because it wasnt working (which it hasnt for 18mths) it meant it wasnt turning my immoboliser off, all it took was a change in key battery so thankfully the damage was only £39 (£30 + VAT for call out+ £2.50 for battery).
Dont worry Kazza have already told him not to mention anything else lol.
That wasn't too bad thank goodness!! Hopefully you won't have any more problems.
