Hi
I am due to make my Last payment next month, i rang for confirmation that this will definately be my last payment as nobody has been in touch since last year - i was told that January is indeed when my last scheduled payment is due - are there any reasons why this may be extended? i have no property to release equity from, but have a bad feeling reading other peoples experiences. Also they have recently posted me some forms to fill in for a PPI claim??? will this extend it if the claim isnt closed? Would you expect them to contact me before my 60th payment?

Which company are your with? The PPI claim may prevent closure of the IVA, but it shouldn't lead to anymore payments from yourself. Double check with your company once your final payment has been made. They should then instruct you to cancel your standing order or direct debit.

Agree with KAYKAY. Also, do you have any missed payments to catch up on? This could lead to an extension.

If you have no equity, and no missed payments over the term of the IVA that need catching up with your IVA will stop as planned - your direct debit or standing order should be closed once your final payment has been received by your IVA company.
You will then have to wait for the certificate of completion to come through, and this maybe delayed while the PPI claim goes through - but hopefully not long. It can take up to 3 months for the cert to come through - well done for reaching this stage...you can now focus on a new start to your life ! Well done !

Were you mis sold any ppi? The iva firm cannot force you to make claims if you don't believe any are due.

Thanks everyone, ive struggled alone for 5yrs and have only now discovered this fab page!!
I didnt think i had ever been mis sold PPI which i thought was strange, and the letter came from a company on behalf of DFD, it basically said i had no choice but to return the forms or i would be breaching my agreement.

Declan from DFD wrote a post earlier explaining about DFD's stance on the PPI issue and why they were using a company to help them with this - it might be a good idea to read this as it may to explain some things.

Dawn... look through some of the other posts regarding PPI, as Declan who for works for DFD has detailed some information on PPI claims within DFD, this may help you to understand a little. You can also e-mail Declan direct if you have any other worries. He is a great help and has helped myself and others on behalf of DFD when we have had worries or a bit of a wobble.
