Well hopefully I'm on my way to sorting my financial mess out! Got a phone meeting with Tina from Melanie Giles on Friday to look at how to go forward. Just waiting for callcredit to give me a pin number then I'll have all three credit files to help me get a better picture. I've actually found experian and equifax reports a little underwhelming!

For example, I had a car lease in 2007 that I just sacked off, they took the car but then said I had a 7k shortfall, which they passed onto a company called C.A.R.S who badgered me for a while but I've moved a few times...but there is no mention of it on my credit files!

Also have balances with Northern Rock Asset Management of £27k (CCJ issued apparently! Must have sent the papers to the house that was repossessed!) but it shows as 'satisfied' on my CR. Also marked 'satisfied' is the repossession shortfall, again with NR, this must have been about 20k. I can only assume they've sold them on to a DCA, but I have never been pursued about them and there's nothing else on my CRs.

Glad that things are underway for you Lee. Credit reports can be a little confusing and I had to search also in my previous married name to try and track down debts that I knew existed from 10 years prior to application for an IVA - you won't have that problem! I also had to insist to Barclaycard that I owed them money as they could not find any record although I had sent token payments for 10 years. They did eventually find me on their old computer system and ironically after all that voted against the IVA proposal! I also had numerous addresses, have your searched under all your previous addresses?

Equifax and callcredit only let me enter my current and 2 previous addresses, but others came up as linked addresses. Experian let me enter all of my previous addresses for my adult life so I was expecting more on it but there seems alot missing. I'm worried that if I start an IVA I'll miss someone out and still owe them money after the IVA completes!

Lee - speak with Tina on Friday and she will be able to put your mind at ease. I am sure she will have the experience to chase your creditors who have sold on your debts to establish where each one now sits.
