have to admit, i am really pleased with myself for getting through christmas without credit for the first time in 12 years!
presents are bought, not so extravagant as previous years, but everyone still has a little something, ive been picking up a few extras with my grocery shopping for a few months now, so i have a few treats in the house for my daughter.
and my fantastic parents who found out about my iva in october have informed me they have put a grocery hamper together for me including a bottle of baileys.

i still think its the best feeling paying with cash, its so simple now, if i dont have the cash we dont have it and thats how it is, and its okxx

Yes, Tesco also do stamps and i think Asda do the card thingy where you can top up with as little as a pound.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Thinking about it you can put money on a gift card in Sainsbury too.

Cash is the way forward for me, I find it helps me budget. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I'm off up to Tesco soon with £100 worth of vouchers both saved from the clubcard points and also from Valued Opinions surveys. I shall enjoy spending that!!!

this is our 2nd Christmas working on the IVA budget.
we saved stamps (£1 each) for Morrisons.

Artermischild- Asda do a saving cards, if you have so much on by Nov they'll add a extra £6.00 on, few extra treats! it can be hard trying to put £ aside but it really helps come xmas[:)]

got budget presents for each other, cash for our grown up children. only other presents we bought are for mum & Dad, told the rest not to buy for us as money is tight.

our son's just rang from London, told him " Dad & me are just looking forward to having you 2 home, watching tv,nice food in & relaxing!" he said,"that sounds great!"

our oldest son is home on leave from the army,he arrived today - made my eyes fill,he expects to do a tour next year. having time together is the biggest, bestest gift!

Littlefi, take lot's of photo's when you go away with your mum,so glad she's so much better after that scare.
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!

My first year in the IVA I had 5 old mobile phones just sat in a draw, found a site called envirofone and they amazingly gave me £75 for them and then added 10% because I would take argos vouchers.

Added another £20 to break the £100 barrier and got another £10 voucher from argos, spent another £40 to make it £50, got a £5 voucher because of that then bought the rechargale batteries needed with that.

Ended up with around £165 worth of stuff that only cost in real money about £60 to me.
Last Payment - November 2011 - Completion Certificate received 2 weeks after last payment, Removed from Insolvency Register within 4 weeks after last payment.

We started shopping for Christmas in August [:D]. Just the odd little thing but it soon mounts up, I have made quite a bit as well, I knit and crochet so I have made a blanket for my son and daughter in Law in crochet squares, yes over 250 of them has taken me since September, [:D] plus we bought a 10 aperture photo frame and have filled it with photos of the Chloe with different memebers of the family, lots of home made stuff that is personel to them.
When I wrapped all the present up the other night I was suprised how much was there. Hubby and I haven't really bothered this year for us the only thing we wanted was a pair of slippers each so that is all we have got [:D]
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

well, yes time is very precious and the greatest gift you could give your loved ones at xmas, but not an option for us as we both are not allowed to take any leave over the xmas period and with 2 kids and limited childcare means we have to work around each other, so we are having very little time together at xmas this year, so to all of you who are lucky enough to be able to spend xmas with your families, please spare a thought for many of us who can't for various reasons.

As regards spending at xmas, I have been saving tesco stamps all year and have just under £150 now to do my food and drink shopping on Wednesday, but next year I think I will just save the money in a separate account as I'm a little bit peeved now that I only have the option of using tesco for my food shopping and can't pick up any bargains anywhere else!
