Hi Lem

I

Our car need some work on it. A sensor of some description it costs around £500 to sort out and is currently not working. We have been told it does not affect the cars running it is just a worry that we are not able to fix it.
would love know what sensor cost £500 to repair?
replacing a friends engine with a 2nd one and its under £200.
but then I dont get garage bills.
what car do you have?
is there a light on your dash when driving?
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,

Sounds exactly like us. Our first year was plagued by unforeseen costs. Tumble dryer breaking down & two new tires meant we had to take two payment breaks in the first year. My wife scraped the car in a supermarket car park over Christmas and now we have 350 quid excess to find. We are really down about our IVA, but managed to get through our first review with no modifications which cheered us up a bit.

I now work in a different section than I used too and really need to smarten myself up a bit but we just cannot afford the extra expense.

A lot of our 'pots' are spent on servicing plans, which can be a good way to go.

Oh, and every month our contingency fund always goes on something.

Hope it all works out for you lem and things take a turn for the better. I have been in your position and its not nice. Everything breaking down at once and family stuff on top. Too many kids for me needing so many things. You never know what is round the corner though so don't give up. Hoping good stuff comes soon. Take care . Hope your ip can help take the strain off x

big hug lem.

we've had things breaking too(we have terrible luck with fridges, don't know why - present one is leaking).

have you registered on your local Freecycle groups? post wanted adds for the fridge- i've seen alsorts on there! all items offered are FREE of charge.[:)]

have you heard of Groupon?? we get emails with offers/deals, one was a boiler service for about £30. just a thought.

we're limping towards payday,it seems an age since the last one. keep going ![;)]
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!

Hello again,

have you looked at Freecycle, you may be able to pick up a fridge there for nothing, it's a site where people post items they don't need and basically give them away, fridges and the like do come up from time to time.

Also one little story that will make you smile. One week into our IVA the telly blew up, so I got on to ebay and mamaged to pick up a widescreen telly for ............. wait for it.... 99p....Even though our IVA has finished I intend to run it into the ground as a reminder of how tough it is to go through an IVA
IVA finished June 2011
