Hi Everyone,
I am currently in an IVA that began last November 2011. At present I live at home with parents and my I&E was completed as a single person.
I would like to move out with my boyfriend and also under pressure to leave home from parents as well (Im 31, so pretty understandable). I have downloaded the beat my debt expenditure allowances guidelines to try and get an understanding of how living with my boyfriend would affect my I&E.
We are not financially linked in anyway so how would I calculate the allowance for housekeeping as an example. At present I am a single person so my allowance in IVA is £202 but a couple is £324, would this be halved in my IVA I&E as he would be expected to pay half this? leaving me £162 in my I&E? If this is the case would it be the same for everything?
Not sure If I am making sense, but just trying to work out if I could afford to move in with him.
Thank you , any help would be much appreciated.
Ruth

Work out using percentages based on who earns what. Its the easiest way.

A crude way is to split all expenses 50/50 then place these on your I&E. I'm guessing you will have lots of new household expenses you didnt have before like utilities, council tax, home insurance, tv licence etc.
The road is 72months long starting September 2010.
