Hi all,

Well, following the success of our meeting last week, my husband and I are officially on the insolvency register for all to see !

Feel a bit ashamed to be on there and worried that family may look, but as one half of family do not know, they should have no reason to check it out !
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!

Hi Mrs R, firstly congratulations on getting your foot on the first rung of the ladder towards a debt free future. I agree the insolvency register is a considerable embarrassment however virtually noone looks there unless they already know or need to knnow about a situation. It doesn't exactly come up on general search engines after all. If some one does find out, well then hold your head up high as you have done something really positive about the future.

Yes, they don't waste anytime do they? I think we were on there after a couple of days and yeah I had that same pang of guilt and worry when I saw it, but I've never looked at it since and I don't think people who aren't in the know would ever know about it

Us next then! Not there yet! The relief we feel though, counteracts any embarrassment...

Know exactly how you feel and was really annoyed that not only was my name there but everything else was too, however my head is high i'm facing my demons and doing something about my debts, well done on taking that step onto the debt free road it will be over before you know it and as everyone else has said not that many know about the register. Take care and be safe. xx
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

Thank you all. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels embarrassed about it, but you are all right - we are sitting out our finances rather than avoiding them !!

Mrs hyperdrive, how did it go Friday ?

Hi MrsR, you may feel embarrassed but don't feel ashamed. Like so many of us you have taken the decision to sort out your debt and satisfy your creditors. Well done, it's not an easy journey but the final reward is a great feeling (so I've been told).
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues

I/we felt just the same,it is horrible.

we're off it now but i printed it off- our names etc,
a reminder to stay away from credit!

this whole experience has taught me so much about not judging!

we all know how stressful this is & what courage it can take to sort our "mess" out.

just keep going now,back patting time,[;)],hug x

If they're looking for you they know it exists and if they know it exists then how do they know? I've seen a couple of people I know on there but would never tell them I know they're on as we're on for the same reason.

You're doing something about your debt so don't feel ashamed, feel proud.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
