Today is the DAY. I have already heard from my IP and my IVA was accepted yesterday...
HOWEVER
Hubbys IVA hasnt had the final vote yet. His meeting is today at 11.15 am.
I am surprised at the fact that one of our smaller creditors actually voted agaisnt the IVA. Guess they would rather see us bankrupt and loose everything we have. Not sure if I can name them but here goes, BARCLAYS. And these people, if the IVA goes through OK, are going to be paid nearly in full.
So now to hear from second biggest creditor. They are the ones who have been nasty to us with phone calls and threats, so I am not excpeting good news.
Me kinda wondering what will happen if hubby is turned down. Can my IVA continue? Will it cut our debt in half? Will we have to go BR and lose EVERYTHING we have worked so hard to hold on to?
No, I am not doing well. I will keep you updated.
I am trying really hard not to get in my car and go buy cigarrets... I stopped smoking over a week ago.
Warm hugs.

it's a stressful time, good news on your IVA and fingers crossed on hubbys. I never understand creditors, but let's not worry about the what ifs until after the "results are in". Whatever happens, there will be a solution, believe me- I've been there, done it, as have many others on here.
Now you need to occupy yourself without reaching for the ciggies, if you can. How about re- organising your wardrobe? If you're like me, it will take ages and be very messy! If I'm stressed, I take a long soak in the bath or go for a walk.
You don't need the ciggies.... just try and find something to occupy yourself, even if it's re-reading successful posts on the forum for some encouragement. I am sure everything will be ok and you will be posting positive news later today.
Try not to worry - easier said than done, I know. Sure everything will be fine. BTW Barclays said no to us as well, still made no difference in the end. Good luck x
I'm.sure it will all be fine Mia - and keep off the ciggies!!!!

The one creditor, Virgin, that we were waiting for and expecting problems from did not bother to vote so yes...
Our IVA's have been accepted.
My IP has truied to reassure me that its a done deal and even if virgin reply they are too late, but I keep imagining that it will still go wrong. I dont know. My brain is truly fried right now.
And this will make you proud of me.... no ciggies.
Now to get my head around this life changing event. I am so scared.
x
I was like you my biggest creditor Lloyds didnt bother to vote and I was constantly worrying they could scupper the whole thing however after receiving postive comments from the lovely people on here I realised that could not happen.
Excellent news mia, really pleased for you. No worries about Virgin, they can't touch you now.

Don't be scared miak. You have done the hardest and scariest part. Just remember, budget all the time and keep you IP informed of any changes. Adhere to the conditions in your IVA and all will be well. Good luck for smooth journey.
Great news for you both Miak. Creditors are a funny breed, and often do strange things but at the end of the day your IP wouldnt be putting forward anything they think wont be accepted.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
Thank you for ur kind words. My brain is starting to see day light now, I was in a kind of strange fog form the past hour....
ditzydoodle please dont worry, our debt with barclays was only small, so they were problably playing silly bugers. Natwest was our main creditor and they said yes with no issues apaprt from a couple of words change on contract.
Oh and you wont believe this!! I can have a little bit extra on my budget for the gym!!! Because I have lupus I need to excercise under the watchfull eye of a professional... I am amazed that they agreed with it!
And now... to became the frugal queen of the IVA kingdom!! heheheh hell... see? I am already getting back to normal!! I amaze myself really... Ooo maybe I should hug myself? What do you think? hehehehe xxx
Thats great news Mia and glad your need for the gym has been recognised too. Best wishes and I look forward to reading how everything goes for you along the way.
