Morning all..my IVA was accepted approved and starts this week for payment.
This morning had a quite hairy scary letter from Capitsl One...saying in spite of IVA motions going thru..they will still chase me for monies and and can still take me to court after final IVA payment..that is how I read it anyway.!!! I will pass on to my IVA guys but just to say we can still get scary letters for quite a while I hear???

Hi maxieboy.

Scare tactics, nothing more. You are completely protected now and they cannot Chase you once the iva is completed either.

Some people do get letters for a while afterwards. Just ignore them.

Hay Maxie

please dont worry about these letters, there done as standard to try and get token payments out of you, what there doing is wrong and sets a very bad standard for their trade!

If you IVA is accepted then sit back and reelax in the knowledge your fully protected by it and they can shout and scream all they want but they cant do anything, assuming their debt was included in the IVA then whats not been paid will effecticly be written off after the IVA completes so there will be no further chasing!

Each time you recieve one of these letters please dont worry about it, simply send it on to your IP who will contact them and give then a rollocking!!

from what I understand, creditors will try allsorts to gleen money from you in the beginning of the IVA, to try and increase their p/£ dividend.

We have a car finance company trying to trick us into a voluntary termination so that they obtain almost £8000.

Send the letters to your IP and then file the memory of it under 'stuff I don't need to worry about'.

I had the same, all the statements above are true but mine went on for months (3 or 4) and you do begin to wonder and some of the letters are worrying. I was being told that they didnt know I was in the IVA and one said that the IVA wasnt actually approved and got cancelled, even though I was giving them the reference number. I guess I'm one the experienced ones now (lol) and can just assure you that eventually the letters and phone calls do stop but it may take some time.

You don't need to worry at all. Once the IVA is approved then all debts are included and they can do nothing to you.

The calls and letters will stop.
